The selection process
The organizing committee received 253 submissions in the competition categories. Each submission was sent to a minimum of 3 blinded reviewers, who assessed the abstract or video and gave marks based on predefined criteria such as type of study, relevance, quality, teaching points and novelty. The marks of the reviewers were averaged. To further ensure that there was no variation between different sets of reviewers (one set may be too lenient), the marks of each submission were normalized across the category using mean and standard deviation matching to reach the final scores.
The top 10 submissions have been selected for the bursary award. The remaining have been moved to the Free category. Note that some submissions moved to the free category have been waitlisted, in case of a dropout.
Prerequisites for bursary awards
- The recipient should be an AMASI member or associate member. You can apply for membership before the conference to be eligible.
- The awardee should have registered for the conference. Kindly confirm your registration, else the paper will be removed from the awardee list 5 days before the conference. Those who have not registered as per the system are marked with a red asterisk * in the list.

- You should not have received an AMASI bursary award in the last 3 years.
